Healthy Ageing Summit Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to all registrations for the Healthy Ageing Summit (“the Summit”), organised by Healthy Ageing Institute (“HAI”, “we”, “our” or “us”).

By registering for and attending the Summit, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms & Conditions.


1. Registration

Your registration is confirmed once full payment has been received. All registrations are subject to availability and acceptance by Healthy Ageing Institute. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel a registration where reasonably necessary.


2. Payment

All registration fees are quoted in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include GST where applicable. Payment must be received in full before attendance at the Summit.


3. Registration Transfers, Cancellations and Refunds

If you are unable to attend the Summit, you may transfer your registration to another person by notifying the Healthy Ageing Institute in writing prior to the event.

Refunds will only be provided where required under Australian Consumer Law or where otherwise agreed by Healthy Ageing Institute. Failure to attend the Summit does not entitle a delegate to a refund.


4. Event Changes, Cancellation or Postponement

Healthy Ageing Institute reserves the right to make changes to the event where reasonably necessary, including:

  • the event program
  • speakers or presenters
  • session times
  • venue
  • event schedule
  • exhibitors or sponsors.

Such changes do not entitle attendees to a refund.

If the Summit is cancelled by Healthy Ageing Institute, delegates will be offered either:

  • a full refund; or
  • a transfer of their registration to a rescheduled event.

Healthy Ageing Institute is not responsible for travel, accommodation or other expenses incurred by delegates.


5. Photography, Video Recording and Media Consent

Professional photography, videography and audio recording may take place throughout the Summit.

By attending the Summit, you acknowledge and agree that your image, likeness, voice and/or comments may be captured in photographs, video recordings or other media.

You grant Healthy Ageing Institute permission to use, reproduce, edit, publish and distribute this content for legitimate business purposes, including but not limited to:

  • marketing and promotion
  • social media
  • websites
  • educational resources
  • publications
  • media releases
  • future event promotion

If you do not wish to be photographed or recorded, please notify Healthy Ageing Institute before the event and advise staff upon arrival. While every reasonable effort will be made to accommodate your request, we cannot guarantee that you will not appear incidentally in group or audience images.


6. Delegate Conduct

Healthy Ageing Institute is committed to providing a professional, respectful and inclusive environment.

Delegates are expected to:

  • behave respectfully towards presenters, exhibitors, sponsors, staff and other attendees
  • refrain from disruptive, abusive, discriminatory or inappropriate behaviour
  • comply with venue rules and reasonable directions from event staff.

Healthy Ageing Institute reserves the right to refuse entry or remove any attendee whose behaviour is considered inappropriate. No refund will be provided in these circumstances.


7. Intellectual Property

All Summit presentations, manuals, slides, recordings, resources and materials remain the intellectual property of Healthy Ageing Institute and/or the individual presenters unless otherwise stated. These materials are provided for personal educational use only.

Delegates must not reproduce, copy, distribute, publish, record, livestream, sell or commercially exploit any Summit content without prior written permission.


8. Recording by Delegates

Photography for personal use is permitted unless otherwise advised by the presenter. Audio recording, video recording, livestreaming or recording of presentations or workshops is not permitted without prior written approval from Healthy Ageing Institute.


9. Educational Information

The Healthy Ageing Summit is designed to provide education and professional development.

Information presented during the Summit is of a general educational nature and should not be considered medical, legal or other professional advice.

Delegates should exercise their own professional judgement and seek appropriate advice before applying any information presented.


10. Practical Sessions

Some sessions may include practical demonstrations or movement-based activities. Participation is voluntary.

Delegates are responsible for determining whether they are medically fit to participate and should exercise within their own capabilities.

Healthy Ageing Institute accepts no responsibility for injuries arising from voluntary participation except where liability cannot be excluded by law.


11. Certificates and Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

Where applicable, certificates of attendance or CPD certificates will only be issued to delegates who meet the attendance requirements determined by Healthy Ageing Institute or the relevant accrediting organisation.


13. Privacy

Healthy Ageing Institute collects personal information to administer registrations, communicate important event information and provide services associated with the Summit.

From time to time, we may also send information about future events, education programs, products and services offered by Healthy Ageing Institute. You may unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time. Personal information is managed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.


14. Sponsor and Exhibitor Disclaimer

Healthy Ageing Institute does not endorse or guarantee the products, services or claims made by sponsors, exhibitors or third-party organisations participating in the Summit.

Delegates should undertake their own assessment before purchasing or implementing any product or service.


15. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Healthy Ageing Institute, its directors, employees, contractors, presenters, volunteers and partners are not liable for any loss, injury, damage, expense or inconvenience arising from attendance at, or participation in, the Summit. Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law.


16. Force Majeure

Healthy Ageing Institute will not be liable for any delay, change or cancellation of the Summit due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • natural disasters
  • severe weather
  • government restrictions
  • public health emergencies
  • industrial disputes
  • venue closures
  • utility failures
  • acts of terrorism
  • other unforeseen events.

Where reasonably possible, alternative arrangements will be made.


17. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any disputes arising from these Terms & Conditions shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.
